CANYON –
GREAT WITH A GREEN CORE

CO2 reduction:

Greenhouse gas emissions are 27% below the level required for new buildings. The CO2 absorption of the green roof and green façade is approx. 2,000 kg p.a. (roof approx. 600 kg, façade approx. 1,400 kg).

Primary energy demand:

The primary energy demand is 33% below the level required for new buildings

Energy savings:

The roof structure of the green roofs achieves energy savings of around 10%.

Rainwater discharge:

70% of the rainwater runoff saved through the design of the green roof gardens as a retention roof.

Sustainability:

The strict requirements of LEED certification and the EU taxonomy criteria that are implemented take into consideration issues such as climate protection, climate change adaptation, sustainability, the circular economy and environmental pollution i.e. the proven sustainability of the products used, water-saving fittings, electric mobility, reduction of light pollution, energy efficiency, building eco-balance, etc.

Increase in humidity:

An increase in humidity can be achieved in the building through the roof gardens and green façades, i.e. depending on the availability of water, the green roofs can evaporate up to 2.0 l/m² of water per day (e.g. approx. 1,200 m² of roof greening = 2,400 l).

Ambient temperature:

The green façades and roof gardens can lead to a reduction in the ambient temperature of approx. 2°C.

Protection of health:

Studies have shown that high levels of greenery can reduce stress and increase alertness.

Strengthening biodiversity:

Green roofs and façades provide a unique habitat and refuge for numerous animal species and, at the same time, contribute to biodiversity.

Improvement in air quality:

The roof gardens and green façades can actively reduce the fine dust content by approx. 10% - 30%.

A reduction in nitrogen oxides of up to 40% is achieved by the green façades and approx. 30% by the green roofs.
